For those of you that missed it, the Association hosted a very successful Be Car Care Aware and Custom Car Show on September 30th at the Towne Center at Fayetteville. We offered free car safety inspections, child car seat check-ups, VIN number etching, a kids area complete with martial arts demonstrations, lots of exhibitors, and plenty of custom cars. We gave out very nice trophies for 14 car show winners, and overall the weather held out so everyone had a great day!
I would like to thank Bruce Fehlman and the dedicated members of the Car Care Fair committee for their hard work and commitment to this event. We couldn’t have done the event without their efforts! In addition to Bruce, committee members included: Butch Strutz, Jeff Phillips, Rocco Cannata Jr. , Jim Ford, John Panos, Lou Cannata Sr. and Mike Cretaro. It also gives me great pleasure to thank our sponsors, starting with our title sponsor, NAPA AutoCare Centers. In addition, we were delighted to have the support of ClearChannel Radio, Gabriel Auto Parts, Glass America, Big 4 Tire, Emerson Oil, Jasper Engines, Exxpress Tire Delivery, United Auto Supply, LaVallee’s USA Championship Black Belt Karate, and our hosts, COR Development & SRG Management. The association would also like to express it’s appreciation for the support we received from the local SCCA group for directing traffic and coordinating the logistics for the Car Show. A special thanks also to all of the exhibitors, shops who sent inspection technicians, and to Greg Smith and his team for the Custom Car Show judging. We were very pleased that Carrabba’s Italian Grill was able to accommodate our After-Party, and we would like to thank United Auto Supply for sponsoring that event for a group of tired, hungry and thirsty workers. A special thanks also to Jill VanMenxel, Karen Cretaro, Rita Ford, and our own Administrative Assistant, Shaun Norrix for their assistance and for everyone else who pitched in to make this event a success!
I encourage anyone who has any ideas or recommendations for next year’s show to email, fax or phone the office and let us know what you’d like to see done differently. We’ve had a great start. Now the challenge is to keep the Car Care Fair program growing!
Our sincerest thanks again to all!
