Andrew Atutis was selected as this year’s John Ianuzzi Scholarship Award winner from a drawing at the SSRSOUNY Auto Trades Clambake at Hinerwadel’s on May 18th. Andrew is the son of Michael Atutis of Torbitt’s Service Center in Oswego. He is a sophomore at Clarkson University and majoring in Engineering. He is working in his father’s shop for the summer before returning to school in the fall.
The scholarship award was created by SSRSOUNY in memory of John Iannuzzi, who was an ARCO dealer years ago, and one of the original founders of the Association. He held the executive position of Secretary for many years up to the time of his death. He believed strongly in the Association and was always willing to do what was required to make the Association a success. The $500 scholarship is awarded annually at the Auto Trades Clambake to the son, daughter, grandson or granddaughter of a member in good standing with the Association. In order to be eligible for this award of $500.00, the candidate must be a sophomore or higher in an accredited college or university and have at least a “C” average. The scholarship award is presented after the school year has begun and the proof of enrollment and matriculation documentation has been provided.v
